Case Study: Fire Alarm System Installation at Grade 2 Listed Stately Home in the Norfolk Countryside

Proven Results

We are proud to have been involved with the fire alarm installation at the Grade 2 Listed Heggatt Hall in the Norfolk Countryside during summer 2024.

The owners required a comprehensive fire alarm system to be designed and installed to aid compliance with BS5839.1-2017 in order for them to use the property as a boutique holiday let and potential wedding venue.

Following our in depth on site survey we ascertained that this property would benefit from a wireless fire detection and alarm system due to the building being Grade 2 Listed and also down to the historic nature of the decor of the building. We discussed this at length with the client and it was agreed a wireless solution would be best.

This system was installed over 2.5 days by our skilled team of engineers. We opted for the CTEC 2 loop addressable fire alarm panel so that the system is split over two circuits. We utilised 3 Apollo Xpander wireless transmitters with over 50 wireless Apollo Xpander wireless devices including  manual call points, optical smoke detectors, heat detectors, sounder bases and standalone wall sounders within the bedrooms to aid with the required dB levels at bedhead in the sleeping accommodation. The wiring for the transmitters was neatly concealed within 1 service void on site providing the relevant radio signal strengths throughout the property.

Once commissioned, the relevant documentation was handed to the client along with some onsite training leaving the client with the knowledge that the system is backed by not only the manufacturers warranty but also by our 24 hour technical support helpline and access to engineer support around the clock.

The system was also set up on our regular service database so they can rest easy knowing that all of their compliance visits are in safe hands with Norfolk Fire Solutions Ltd.
